Taste Good Ipoh Style ( Wat Dan Hor ) 滑蛋河

Taste Good Wat Dan Hor

On the way back to KL after Penang trip, we stop and eat at Ipoh. There's a shop called "GOOD TASTE'. Hehe..I got 'hou fook' as my dear bring me to try the delicious 'Wat Dan Hor'. The Ipoh kuoy teow is very different and smooth. It has lots of gravy with eggs spread, prawn and choy sum. These ingedients add into sweetness of the gravy.  Some tell me that it must be consumed when it's hot and using bowl instead of plate. It'll be more tasty using bowl. Full of 'Wok Hei' (Wok Aroma).
The soupy hor fun not too watery or too starchy. I'm not so fancy on this but when the time I try it I find it extraordinary and taste really good. Hmm..highly recommended to you. If you're around Ipoh or nearby, go there have a try either for dinner or supper!

Address : No.67, 69 & 71, Jln Yau Yet Shin, 30300 Ipoh.

KTZ ( 記得食) Wonderful Dessert @ SS2

Wonderful dessert

When comes to dinner time, don't know what to eat? If not too hungry, you can go for something light. Let's eat at KTZ Dessert. Nowadays, I could hardly find dessert shop like the traditional olden days one.
Last saturday dinner, we ate at KTZ. We ordered few dishes and desserts for sharing include peanut butter paste, yam cake, HK Chee Cheong Fun, Tong yuen and Loh Mei Kai. It's a best place for youngers to chit-chat ang gathering here. In fact, I'm quite like desserts, especially fuzhuk barley, red beans soups, green beans soups plus sweet potato, longan fungus, black sesame....

TTDI Curry Mee (Kocha Taste)

Ko Cha Taste Curry Mee

Are you looking for a good curry mee? I'd suggest you to try curry mee at Chong Qin TTDI. When talk about good curry mee, we will see the soups good or not. The soup base itself is alright, not too thick, full of santan coconut aroma and the color is just nice. Each bowl of the noodles is standard one. Have ingredients like tofu pok, fish ball, fish cake, chicken meats, long beans & brinjals. I feel that it would be more tasty with addtional prawn and cuttlefish....haha. Overall, neither oily or spicy. The owner of  this coffee shop is very attentive to their customers. The service is very good. Will come back again to try the mee rebus pumpkin soups as recomended by the boss.

怡保河嘻 @ Ipoh Sedap SS2

Good Ipoh Food (Hor Hee & Yong Liew)

Have you ever tried the 'Ipoh Hor Hee' ? This shop is selling many types of ipoh noodles and dishes like hor hee, hakka noodles, chee cheong fun, 'yong tofu' and rice. Hor Hee actually is a bowl of kuoy teow soup with fish ball, fish cakes and vegetables (cabbage, tung chai, beansprouts). It's very delicious, sweet and clear as the soups is boiled with anchovies. This is originally from teow chew. However quite similar with fu zhou fish ball noodles. The hor fun and beansprouts are sent from ipoh daily. The 'Yong Liew' all are fresh and made everyday. You can have the fried type eat with sauces or the soups type. Here, I find the 'fried pork roll' and 'fried turnip' are very nice. Crispy and the taste just good.

On the other hand, we did try at 'Ipoh Big Tree Noodle' nearby the area. It's totally far different and not as good as the Ipoh Sedap one. I find that it's not the same as the one in Ipoh famous 'Big Foot Tree' :)

Dim Sum 鸡窝包 Kai Wo Bao @ Sri Petaling (大家城点心茶楼)

Sunday Dim Sum @ Restaurant Clan

Restaurant Clan at Sri Petaling is renowned for its 'Kai Wo Pao'. This special pao is originally from Sri Petaling and can only be found in this restaurant. FYI, we had the dim sum at Paramount PJ, another branch. What so special of this pao? It's a combination of ' Loh Mai Kai' (glutinous rice) and Pao. Full of ingredients such as minced chicken, mushroom, salted eggs, char siew meat and so on. The pao's skin is thin and many gravy too. A must order dish at this restaurant. Eating dim sum especially on sunday always a good time ..so indulgence! The other dim sum also taste good like what we order siew mai, shrimp kao, fu zhuk with sweet sauces and pan fried radish cake. If you eat at Sri Petaling, the environment will be more crowded and squeeze with people. I much prefer eat at PJ branch where it's more spacious and better.

Japanese Dinner Meals @ Hakono PJ

Nice Japanese Meals At Hakono

During my Nov birthday, my dear brought me to eat at one of a japanese restaurant in PJ name Hakono. We had ordered one sets of grilled salmon fish  and the other set of saba fish together with salad and a bowl of miso soups. Also a plate of baby octopus as side dishes. Then we had 'ocha' (Green Tea). The salmon fish is very fresh. Something special than the normal teriyaki grill. It is grilled with some rice wine and lemon. So you really taste the original taste of the salmon fish meats. FYI, salmon is one of my favorite fish. For the saba fish, the texture of the fish meat is firm. Taste good. Not much fish bone...As for the baby octopus, the sauces taste great. But the portion is really small. Salad mayo is a good starter for the dinner's meal. Finally, the japanese rice is 'fragant' and not sticky. Probably I'd come back again to try other food like soft shell crabs..hahaha :)

Macau Chop Burger @ Tai Lei Loi Kei (PJ Uptown)

Macau Pork Chop Burger....in Uptown PJ

Nowadays, you can find and have the chance to try out macau pork chop bun in M'sia. There are few outlets and one of them is the Tai Lei Loi Kei locate at uptown PJ. It's originally from macau...as you know macau is famous for its pork chop burger. It taste nice. I feel that it 's a bit dry....sauceless. Should top up with some dressing like mayo and vegetables like lettuce. It'd be perfect to go with a slice of cheese. Besides, it'll be easy to eat if the chop is boneless. Can have a try if you haven't eat this chu pa bao. Something different than the usual bun. Next the noodles with pork chop is so so only. The noodles itself is egg noodles wan tan mee. However, I like the HK style milk tea. It's thick  and smooth with condensed milk. HK people always like milk tea..breakfast, afternoon tea or dinner..
